How is this different from a conventional DMR handheld?
A DMR handheld needs licensed frequencies and, for wide-area work, repeater infrastructure that you own and maintain. The NB510 uses 4G networks instead: coverage comes from the carrier, there is no repeater to install, and the cost becomes a SIM plan plus a platform subscription. The trade is dependence on cellular coverage and on the platform you choose.
Which networks does it support?
The published specification supports FDD-LTE, TDD-LTE and TD-SCDMA. Match those bands against the networks your local operators run, and our team will confirm the SIM and data plan requirements for your market.
What do we need to buy besides the radios?
A 4G SIM card and data plan per terminal, and a subscription with dispatch accounts on your mainstream PoC platform. No repeater, antenna system or frequency licence is needed for the terminal itself; confirm local SIM and network rules with your importer.
Can it talk to our existing DMR fleet?
The NB510 works over 4G public networks and does not have a conventional digital or analog radio module, so it cannot communicate directly with DMR handsets on licensed channels. If you need one device for both systems, look at the converged models in the same catalogue; tell us your fleet setup and we will confirm the option.
What is dual SIM switching for?
It lets the user change between two SIM cards. In practice fleets use it for a second operator to fill a coverage gap, or as a spare SIM when the primary network is congested; the switch is a user action rather than a hardware change.
