A hotel or shopping centre is a building full of small, repeated conversations. A guest-facing team cannot shout into a radio in a lobby, housekeeping needs to reach four floors without walking them, and security has to be reachable from the car park and the service corridors.
The system is judged on coverage in the awkward places, on how discreet the radios are in front of guests, and on whether guest information stays private. A consumer handheld can cover the lobby; a hotel needs a planned system.
