Overview
The BF-TD506 is a digital handheld two-way radio for commercial and light industrial teams that need clear voice coverage and predictable running costs without commissioning a system project. It runs TDMA two-slot digital operation, so two conversations can be carried on one frequency carrier and a single channel allocation supports more simultaneous talk groups.
Positioning and use
- Shift-team tool: covers the calling, channel-discipline and power-management functions a shift team uses every day.
- TDMA two-slot: two conversations share one frequency carrier instead of taking turns.
- More capacity per channel: callers spend less time waiting for a free slot.
- No system controller: radios are programmed to your channel plan and issued to the team.
Configurations
- High / low power: transmit power is switchable between two settings.
- High power: reaches the far end of a yard or an outdoor compound.
- Low power: suits indoor or dense areas where extra wattage only adds interference.
- Per-channel programming: teams working indoors and outdoors normally set power by channel.
- Channel plan: programming details are confirmed with the order.
Core functions
- Voice encryption: applied on the digital path so business traffic is not readable with a scanner.
- VOX: hands-free transmission with a compatible headset while carrying stock, driving a forklift or working at height.
- SOS key: one press raises an emergency alarm on the channel.
- Priority call: urgent transmissions take precedence over routine traffic.
- Call time limit: stops one user from holding a busy channel and keeps traffic circulating at peak hours.
- Sensitive roles: suits security posts, front-desk teams handling guest information and commercially sensitive coordination.
Channel management
- Adjustable squelch: adapts the radio to noisy RF environments.
- Power save mode: extends working time between charges across a long shift.
- Monitor and scan: a supervisor can check channel activity or watch several channels at once.
Ordering and OEM
- Band version: the BF-TD506/505 family comes in more than one band version because allocation differs by country.
- Licence match: choose the version that matches your licence and channel plan.
- Licensing: handled locally by the operator, with technical documentation supplied for the application.
- Mixed fleets: tell us at enquiry if analog radios must work alongside this model, as mixed fleets need a different configuration.
- OEM and ODM: logo and packaging are handled at quotation with the minimum order quantity and lead time.

Frequently asked questions
Click a question to see the answer
Which band version should I order — UHF or VHF?
Business radio band allocation differs by country and depends on the licence you hold. Tell us the destination country and your channel plan, and we will confirm the matching band version before the order is placed.
Do we need a licence to operate it?
In most markets, transmitting on business radio channels requires a licence issued in the name of the operating company. The application is handled locally by the importer or the operator; we provide the technical documentation the application requires.
How far does it talk?
Range is determined by output power, terrain and building structure rather than by the radio alone — open ground reaches considerably further than the inside of a building. For multi-floor or large-site coverage, share your site layout and we will advise on channel planning before you order.
Can it work together with the analog radios we already own?
This is a digital handheld. If you still run analog handsets and need both types working together on one site, tell us at the enquiry stage and we will recommend the configuration that supports mixed digital and analog operation.
Can we order it with our own logo and packaging?
OEM support is available. Send the logo files, packaging requirements and target quantity, and our team will confirm what can be customised on this model.
What are the minimum order quantity and lead time?
Both depend on the band version, programming requirements and quantity, so they are confirmed in the quotation rather than fixed as a number on this page.
