Overview
The BF-TD516 is a high-power digital handheld built as the workhorse of a commercial fleet, keeping a shift-based team talking from the start of the day to the end without anyone thinking about the radio. It runs TDMA two-slot digital voice, so two conversations share one licensed carrier rather than taking turns on it.
Positioning and use
- Fleet workhorse: daily coordination in retail, hospitality, logistics and on-site work.
- TDMA two-slot: two conversations share one licensed carrier.
- Doubles channel capacity: the existing licensed channel can effectively carry twice as much traffic.
- Analog to digital: this capacity gain is usually the strongest reason buyers move a fleet.
Configurations
- Mixed working: digital and analog handsets serve the same site in the same shift.
- Staged rollout: few fleets are replaced at once, so digital units go where needed first with no cut-over date.
- High transmit power: gives wider site coverage and extra reach.
- Independent battery charging: a spare pack can be topped up without occupying a radio or charging slot.
Core functions
- Voice encryption: protects the digital path so routine traffic is not openly readable with a scanner.
- VOX: hands-free transmission while a user is carrying, climbing or driving.
- Calling: single call, group call and all call cover one-to-one, department and whole-site traffic.
- Emergency key: a dedicated key raises an alarm.
- Scan and monitor: scan, monitor and permanent monitor support channel supervision.
- Supervisor view: a supervisor can watch activity without joining every conversation.
Coverage
- Direct mode: radios talk to each other handheld-to-handheld without any infrastructure.
- Repeater mode: extends the same channel across floors, warehouses or a wider perimeter.
- Both standard: the coverage decision can follow the site survey.
- Not locked at purchase: choose the mode after assessing the building or compound.
Durability
- IP56: dust protected and resistant to water jets.
- Daily exposure: covers rain, spills behind a bar, hose-down areas and dusty stockrooms.
- High power reach: extra reach for sites with metal racking, basements or remote corners.
Ordering and OEM
- Band version: match the version to the licence held in the destination country.
- Channel plan: confirm what the plan should contain before booking.
- Licensing: handled locally by the operator, with technical documentation supplied for the application.
- OEM: branding and packaging requirements are confirmed before the order.
- MOQ and lead time: confirmed for your configuration.

Frequently asked questions
Click a question to see the answer
Which frequency band should I order for my country?
Business radio band allocation differs by market, and the same model is offered in more than one band version. Tell us the destination country and the licence you hold, and we will confirm the matching band before the order is placed.
Can it talk to the analog radios we already own?
Yes. The radio works in mixed digital and analog mode, so existing analog handsets can stay in service on the same site while digital units are phased in.
Do we need a licence to use it?
In most countries, transmitting on business radio channels requires a licence issued to the user. Licensing is handled locally by the importer or the operating company; we supply the technical documentation needed for the application.
How far can it reach?
Range depends on output power, terrain and building structure rather than the radio alone. A handheld covers more in open outdoor conditions than inside a building. For multi-floor coverage we normally recommend adding a repeater so every floor talks on the same channel.
Can we order our own branding and packaging?
OEM and ODM support is available. Send the logo files, packaging artwork requirements and target quantity, and our team will confirm what can be customised on this model.
What is the minimum order quantity and lead time?
Both depend on the model mix, frequency band version and quantity, so they are confirmed in the quotation rather than quoted as a fixed number here.
