Overview

The CD22 sits in the middle of this analog line-up: more reach than the entry models, less bulk and cost than the high-power units. It is a 16-channel, 5 W handheld rated for a 1–8 km working range, built for shops, sites and small fleets.

01

Positioning and use

  • Mid-range: more reach than entry models, lighter and cheaper than high-power units.

  • Mid-sized sites: dependable voice contact across one site.
  • Not for: digital voice, encryption, trunking, positioning or dispatch integration.
02

Frequently asked questions

Click a question to see the answer

Which band version should we order?

The CD22 is built in VHF 136–174 MHz and UHF 400–480 MHz versions with the same 5 W output and 16 channels. The right choice is the one your market licence allows. Send us the destination country and licence details and we confirm the version before booking.

Do we need a licence to transmit?

Yes in most markets: business radio channels are licensed to the user or the operating company, and the application is normally filed by the local importer or operator. We supply the technical documentation needed for it.

Will it work with the analog radios we already own?

Any analog radio on the same frequency and tone codes will talk to the CD22, so it can be mixed into an existing analog fleet. The one-key channel copy function is the quickest way to move your channel plan onto new units.

What is the realistic talk range?

The rating is 1–8 km, measured under good conditions. Buildings, terrain and interference decide the practical figure: expect the longest distances outdoors with clear line of sight and much shorter coverage indoors.

Can we get spare batteries and other accessories?

Spare 2500 mAh packs and the usual accessories can be supplied with the radios. Note that this model has no published ingress protection rating, so for wet or dusty sites we would point you to the IP-rated models instead.

Can the radio carry our own branding?

OEM branding and packaging are supported on volume orders. Send your logo files, packaging requirements and target quantity, and our team confirms what can be customised on this model.
